1.The operating environment of the slewing bearing


In the selection stage of the slewing bearing, the operation environment should be described in detail. The following are several common use environments: 


Humid environment: 

water vapor should be prevented from entering the raceway and corroding the bearing surface, choose long lip seals or multi-lip seals, or even add multiple sets of seals. The large contact area between the seal and the bearing can effectively prevent the entry of water vapor and the bearing surface is treated with anti-corrosion treatment such as galvanizing to prevent the bearing from rusting and corroding and causing fracture failure.


High temperature environment: 

Use high temperature resistant materials, cages choose metal cages or glass fiber cages, seals use high temperature resistant rubbers such as fluorine rubbers, grease choose high temperature grease.


Dust environment: 

The main way to effectively prevent dust from entering the raceway is seals selection, which is the same as the selection method under wet conditions.


2.Rotation speed of slewing bearing


The rotational speed of the slewing bearing in the selection stage is not described in our usual sense of how many revolutions per minute, in actual use, the slewing bearing is not used at a constant speed in many occasions. In the design, we will provide the limit speed. The slewing bearing can not exceed the corresponding prescribed time under the limit speed state. 


If the speed is too high, it will cause the bearing temperature to be too high and heat, poor heat dissipation, raceway burns, rolling element burns, cause damage to the slewing bearing. The selection of high-speed slewing bearings should meet the requirements of integral copper cages, high temperature resistant seals and grease.


3.Slewing bearing load


There are a variety of slewing bearing types to choose from according to unreasonable load conditions. Loads are divided into axial load, radial load and tilting moment. Under the condition that the slewing bearing diameter remains unchanged, increasing the rolling elements diameter can effectively increase bearing load, the integral cage can make the force of the slewing bearing more uniform.


The slewing bearing selection stage is very important for the description of the operating conditions. The more detailed description, the more perfect the selection design can be provided by engineers, more suitable for customers' use.
